As we reach the end of 2012, some people may be concerned that we are about to reach the end of life on planet Earth. I’m referring, of course, to the Mayan Apocalypse that will allegely occur when the current Mayan calendar cycle (all 5,125 years of it) comes to an end on December 21st. Archeologists say that the Mayans as far as they can tell simply expected to start another calendar cycle on the 21st. But, what if they are wrong?

Cats to the rescue. You see, as great as the Mayan astronomers were, they had one very large handicap. They did not have any domestic cats. The Egyptians did have domestic cats, and they also had a head start on the Mayan civilization, about a one millennium head start.

And what do you see again and again in Egyptian murals and sculpture? Why, of course, you see a great big cat, and the cat is killing a nasty looking snake-like critter called Apep. Who the heck is Apep, you might ask?

Apep is apocalypse, a destructive force that forever will try to destroy the sun and presumably everything else.

The Egyptians knew all about Apep. But they also knew the big cat could handle Apep any day of the week and any old Mayan Long Cycle: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Apep_2.jpg

The key is to keep worshipping those cats, which is something the Egyptians understood. And, of course, it’s what the fanciers website is all about.
